Annie Ruth Johnson, known as Ruth, age 87, of Cullman, Alabama passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Ruth was born in Cullman, Alabama on October 8th, 1936, to Leon and Vera Mae Miller Haney. She is preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers Douglas and Doyle Haney, 2 granddaughters Alice Revells and Julie Snell, and her grandson Billy Worrell.
Ruth retired from the former Hyatt restaurant and loved taking long walks and sitting on her front porch in her rocking chair, drinking coffee while reading her Bible, word search puzzles, canning, going to church, and spending time with her family and friends. She worshipped and praised the Lord daily and now she is praising the Father in Heaven who welcomed her with open arms.
She was loved deeply by her family and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held at Moss Service Funeral Home Chapel on Monday May 6th, 2024 at 2 p.m. with Wayne Barnett officiating. Interment will follow services in Bethel Baptist Cemetery in Blair Community.
Survivors are: daughters: Annie (Gary) McGhee and Peggy (Wayne) Murphree, sons: George Jr. (Danni) Johnson and Paul (Tiffany) Johnson, Stepdaughters: Stella Phelps and Mary Ann Prestridge, brothers: Herman (Sue) Haney and Joe Haney, as well as 20 grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be at Moss Funeral Home on Sunday May 5Th, 2024 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.
