Obituary: Roland C. Quick

Roland Cecil Quick, 79, of Hanceville, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Wednesday, April 24, 2024. 

Funeral services for Roland C. Quick will be held at noon on Friday, April 26, 2024 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Cullman, Alabama. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. unitl noon on Friday at the church. Burial will follow the service at Hopewell Cemetery in Hanceville, Alabama.

Survivors include his devoted wife, Susan Quick; daughters, Audrey (Richard) Crabb and Regina Quick; step-daughter, Rachel (Andrew) McAnnally-Kreps; seven grandchildren, Leo, James, Eleanor, and Owen Crabb, Benjamin, Sybil and James Kreps; sister, Jerrelene Vickers; as well as a host of nieces and nephews; and special relative, Christopher (Holli) Quick.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Bobbie Quick, brothers, Billy Herman, Wayne, and Van Quick; sisters, Bernice Nelson and Sally Moore; and daughter, Dr. Rhonda Quick.

Roland believed in hard work, which meant that throughout his life, he had many job titles: coal miner, welder, business owner, and farmer, just to name a few. His favorite title was grandpa.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran School.

The family would like to thank the staff of Woodland Village and Aveanna Hospice for all of the love and care that was shown to Mr. Quick and his family.
