CULLMAN, Ala. – Timeless Homeschool Events (THE) is an organization that has been serving north Alabama and Huntsville’s homeschooling families for over 15 years. On Friday, April 19, it will host “A Night on the Bayou” prom at The Barn at Lake Catoma in Cullman.
A Night on the Bayou promises to be an event full of memories and fun times, transporting attendees straight to the Louisiana Bayou with lively music, Southern charm and a Creole-inspired menu of hors d’oeuvres, a main course of Cajun chicken pasta and garlic knots and a wide array of dessert options, of course featuring beignets.
All homeschoolers completing grades nine through 12 are invited, welcome and encouraged to attend the prom; additionally, a homeschooler may bring up to two non-homeschoolers as guests with individually purchased tickets. The minimum age for an attending homeschooler or guest is 14 and no attendee may be older than 19 on prom night.
THE Cullman Administrator Jennifer Garcia has made sure that no “offensive or vulgar tunes” will be played at the dance; working closely with the DJ, Garcia and the event’s planning committee have rounded up the “best, clean, dance-worthy songs” for the evening.
All attending seniors will be asked to place their names into a bowl, from which the prom committee will choose a Prom King and Queen to complete the affair.
A Night on the Bayou prom will take place Friday, April 19, from 6-10 p.m. at the Barn at Lake Catoma, located at 651 County Road 1419. The deadline to purchase tickets is Thursday, April 18, at noon. Tickets are $40 each and can be purchased online at www.timelesscullman.org/prom.
