Funeral service for Margaret Odine Laney, age 97, of Cullman, is Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 2 p.m. at Cullman Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Rodgers officiating. Mrs. Laney will lie in state Thursday from 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 10, 2024 from 5:30 p.m. – 8 p.m. at Cullman Funeral Home and interment will be at Blair Methodist Cemetery.

Margaret was born September 22, 1926 to Lonnie Cone and Zora Moore Cone. She passed from this life on April 7, 2024, at her home.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Leslie Laney; five brothers; three sisters; son-in-law, Ed Holcombe; daughter-in-law, Renee Laney; grandchildren, Brian Laney, Dustin Laney, and Tina Laney; great-grandchild, Noah Laney.
She is survived by her sons, Gary Laney (Wanda), Bruce Laney (Joyce), Tim Laney (Donna), Chris Laney; daughters, Dianne Wilbanks (Charles), Connie Holcombe; grandchildren, Barry Laney (Mandy), Patrick Laney (Jenny), Jeremy Laney, Darlene Nuss (Jeff), Desti Neighbors (Duston), Talisha Dubberly (Jason), Kaitlyn Laney, Josh Wilbanks, Adam Wilbanks, Weston Laney; twenty-four great-grandchildren; sixteen great-great grandchildren; a host of nieces and nephews; family and friends.
Margaret was very outgoing and social all her life. She loved being with her friends at the Jones Chapel Senior Center and having lunch with them. She also loved to garden and can and she loved Alabama football. Her other hobbies were watching her game shows and Andy Griffith. Her favorite thing was cooking Sunday dinner for her family and everyone coming over. She was a wonderful lady and will be missed so much by family and friends.
