Obituary: Lollie Jean McKinney

Lollie Jean McKinney, a resident of Hanceville, Alabama, passed away on March 19, 2024, at the age of 91. She was a faithful member of Mount Olive Church of Christ and an active participant of the Red Hat Society. Lollie and her family enjoyed spending quality time together on Smith Lake, creating cherished memories.

As the tenth child, she loved having her family around and cherished every moment spent with them. She was also known as “Lollipop” by the staff and residents of Hanceville Nursing and Rehab, where she spent her final days. Lollie enjoyed doing arts and crafts, especially painting, and playing bingo.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Clarence McKinney and Norman E. Love Sr., her son, Gary McKinney, her parents, Hardy Clemmons, and Jewel Ella Nix McKinney, and her nine siblings. She is survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and other extended relatives.

Lollie’s family is grateful to the staff of Hanceville Nursing and Rehab for their exceptional care, Southern Care Hospice for their compassion, and Nurse Andrea Regas for her unparalleled dedication and support to Lollie and her family during her final days.

Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Saturday, March 23, 2024, from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m., followed by a Celebration of Lollie’s Life at 11 a.m. at Ridout’s Gardendale Chapel.
