FAIRVIEW, Ala. – After handling Cleveland on the road 10-3 Monday, Fairview was back at home at Mark Moore Field Thursday night for a matchup against Falkville. The Blue Devils struck first, taking a 1-0 lead in the top of the first but the Aggies answered with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first and four more in the second to build an early lead. Falkville was able to get a few more runs on the board in the next few innings but couldn’t keep pace with Fairview’s bats and the Aggies improved to 10-3 on the season with a 15-5 win over the Blue Devils.

Nicolas Gregory and Connor Scott led off the bottom of the first with back to back singles. Both of them advanced on an error and Lucas West drove in Gregory with a sacrifice fly to tie the game at 1. A couple pitches later, Isaac Elrod grounded out to second, allowing Scott to score and giving Fairview a 2-1 lead going into the second inning.

Falkville tied the score at 2 in the top half of the second, but the Aggies moved back in front in their half of the inning. Scott smoked an RBI single into right field to plate Carson Jones and put Fairview in front 3-2 and two pitches later, another sac fly off the bat of West drove in Gregory to make it 4-2. An error allowed Scott to score on the next pitch and Colton Jennings sent an RBI double into right field to push Elrod across the plate and give the Aggies a 6-2 lead going into the third.

West drew a walk with the bases loaded to keep Fairview ahead 7-3 in the third and in the fourth, Jennings scored on an RBI groundout from Caden Barrett and Bryceson Turner scored on a wild pitch to make it a 9-3 game. The Blue Devils tacked on a pair of runs in the top of the fifth, but the Aggies responded with two more in the bottom half of the inning thanks to an RBI single by West and an RBI double off the bat of Elrod.

Falkville loaded the bases in the top of the sixth, but the Aggies got out of the jam and added to their lead in the bottom half of the inning. Barret York knocked a triple into center field to push Kolt Redding and Barrett across the plate and two pitches later, Gannon Black punched an RBI single through the six hole to bring in York and make it 14-5. The Aggies decided to wrap things up early, loading the bases to put pressure on the Blue Devils’ defense and an error allowed Black to score and cap a 15-5 win for Fairview.

West (one hit) finished with four RBIs in the win and Elrod (one hit) drove in three more. Scott (one RBI) posted three hits and Gregory, Turner and Redding each added a pair of hits for the Aggies. York (one hit) recorded two RBIs.

Fairview is scheduled to play Meek at home Friday at 4:30 p.m.
