CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) was involved in an incident that started at Parkside School Tuesday and became a high-speed pursuit that ended in Morgan County.
Sheriff Matt Gentry said the incident started at Parkside when the school resource officer attempted to arrest a subject who was causing issues at the school.
“The subject resisted and ultimately fled in a vehicle,” Gentry said. “This led to an extended car pursuit that ended in Morgan County after multiple agencies joined in the pursuit.”
The subject is in custody and there is no threat to the community, according to Gentry.
“I would like to personally thank Morgan County, Arab PD, AST and Blount County for their assistance with this matter,” Gentry said. “Having the ability to collaborate with these agencies is an invaluable resource to have. I would also like to thank our deputies here at the sheriff’s office for their continued dedication to the citizens of Cullman County. I am also grateful for our SRO program and the job those deputies do each and every day. There is nothing more important than the safety of our children and we will continue to do everything we can to make sure they are protected.”
There is an ongoing investigation into today’s incident. Further information will be provided as it becomes available.
