Mrs. Cox was born Aug. 10, 1964 in Los Angeles, California to James and Ethel Woods. She passed away Feb. 24, 2024 in Cullman, Alabama. Aside from the many trials and tribulations Karen faced throughout the years she remained strong and fought hard to make each day count. Beginning in 2009, Mrs. Cox began working as a drug and alcohol counselor at Bradford Health Services to help those with needs to overcome addiction.
Throughout her career at Bradford, she received numerous certifications which doesn’t come by surprise hence the love, care and compassion she shared with those individuals who sought out to find a way to sobriety. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected illness she had to resign from her position in 2017.
Although she was no longer able to serve the community she was called for, Karen continued to inspire others with her unfailing love.
Mrs. Cox is survived by her children, Shannon Stewart (Jayson), Jayden Jackson (Kaitlin); grandchildren, W. J. Layth Stewart, Timothy Everett Jackson, Nora Estelle Jackson; nieces, Linda Sufficool, Jennifer Morton, Chilaya Moore, Natawsha Vondrak; her lifelong best friend, Audra Woodruff; and her goddaughter, Bailey Laine Sims.
Mrs. Cox was preceded in death by her parents, James and Ethel Woods; her husband, Timothy Joshua Jackson; son, Robert De Paemelaere II; sister, Kathy Jo Woods; and her nephew, Travis Ravelo.
