Garry George Mize, of Holly Pond, Alabama, entered into the presence of our Lord and Savior on Feb. 22, 2024, at the age of 76. Mr. Mize was born on Nov. 21, 1947.
Mr. Mize was a member of Bread of Life Church, in Holly Pond, and he enjoyed worshiping his Savior and Lord alongside his brothers and sisters in Christ. Garry enjoyed the beauty of God’s creation and loved spending time in the woods. He also loved eagles and enjoyed watching them soar.
Garry adored his wife, Becky, and they were to celebrate their twenty-third anniversary next month. Becky brought much joy to Garry and their love for one another was evident to all who knew them.
Mr. Mize loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and he was always delighted to spend time with them. Garry was a loving and kind man, and his memory will be cherished for years to come.
Mr. Mize is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Connie Mize; daughter, Kanitha Mize; and a brother.
Those surviving Garry includes his beloved wife, Becky Mize; children, Clint Godsey, Johnny Watwood (Bruna), Calina Gillilan (Dwayne), Angie Lowery, Lynn Johnson; sister, Annette; and a multitude of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mr. Mize is also survived by his Bread of Life Church Family, including Pastor Wayne and Sister Brenda, as well as a multitude of family and friends who were there in just minutes when Garry or Becky needed a hand.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Garry on Sunday, March 10, 2024, at 2 p.m., with a time of visitation beginning at 1:30 p.m. Services will be held at Bread of Life Church with Pastor Wayne Barnette officiating.
