Craig Lee Golden, Jr., lovingly called C.J. by his family and friends, was born on June 20, 2000, in Birmingham, Alabama. C.J. passed away on Feb. 14, 2024, in Shelby County, Alabama, at the age of 23.
C.J. loved military history from an early age and he enjoyed learning about and studying military planes, helicopters, and weapons. His passion for the military led C.J. to serve his nation honorably in the United States Army. When he returned home, C.J.’s love of cars led him to a profession in the automobile service industry. In his spare time, C.J. enjoyed gaming. C.J. was a good kid who had grown into an outstanding young man. His sacrifice for his nation, as well as his sweet and loving spirit, will be remembered by all who knew him.
Mr. Golden is survived by his father, Craig Golden, Sr. (Samantha); grandparents, Ray and RoLinda Golden, Rita Thomas; brother, Mason Golden (Acelynn); sister, Natalie Golden; uncle, Steven Meece (Skyler); aunts, Kayla Landers (Wesley), and Katie Doria (Billy); nephew, Riley Golden; and cousins, Kayson Meece, Charlie Landers, Lewis Landers, and Jasmine Tucker.
Funeral services for Mr. Golden will be held at 1 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2024, in the Holly Pond Funeral Home Chapel, Josh Drake officiating. A time of visitation will be held prior to services, from 11 a.m., until services begin at 1 p.m. Burial will follow in Holly Pond Cemetery.
