Raymond Wilbert Tiller, 89, died Tuesday, February 6, 2024, in Cullman, Alabama. Ray lived his whole life in Montana, before moving to Alabama, six months earlier to be with his family.
Raymond was born in Lewistown, Montana, on Oct. 31, 1934, where he met Phyllis Marie Farmer. They married April 23, 1954. They had three children. They were married forty-three years. Phyllis died in 1997 and Raymond never remarried.
Ray loved the outdoors, fishing to him was therapy. He loved to share his fishing knowledge with anyone who wanted to learn. He would share his knowledge about the Bible and creation with anyone who would listen.
Mr. Tiller is preceded in death by his parents, Robert Leo Tiller, Sr. and Grace Caroline Bachman Tiller; wife, Phyllis Marie Tiller; son, Jerry Tiller; and sisters, Florence Hart and Jackie Anderson.
Ray is survived by his daughters, Susan Leksen (Alan), Charlene Self (Gregg); grandchildren, Britian Tiller, Sherry Tiller, Tyler Walston, Melissa Walston, Shania Morast; four great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Tiller, Jr; and daughter-in-law, Terry Tiller.
The Tiller family will celebrate the life of Ray with a memorial service at a later date.
