VINEMONT, Ala. – The Town of South Vinemont unveiled a new addition to its Christmas celebrations in 2023: a tinsel trail around the perimeter of the community park, known as the Art Park. Because of the success and community engagement with the Tinsel Trail, the Town decided to shift that festive feeling into the Easter season, announcing that a Bunny Trail will be installed for visitors to enjoy.
The Bunny Trail will have the same structure as the Tinsel Trail; residents, businesses and schools from Cullman County are eligible and encouraged to purchase one (or more) pre-cut plywood Easter eggs to paint, decorate and display in the community park. Much like the Tinsel Trail, these decorations can be used to remember and honor loved ones, promote businesses and teams or spotlight students, clubs or individuals. Unlike the Tinsel Trail, the Bunny Trail exhibits will be judged for first, second and third place. Those winning participants will hop away with a $50, $25 and $10 Walmart gift card, respectively, with the prizes generously donated by a local Vinemont business.
“We can’t wait to see your creativity shine as you decorate these large wooden eggs. Let’s come together as a community and make a new tradition happen,” Vinemont Town Clerk Kayecea Sasser said. “These eggs will be on display the whole month of March, and yes, we will have a judging for them. Winners will be announced at our second annual Easter Egg Extravaganza March 23, 2024, from 3-5 p.m. at the Vinemont Community Center.”
The Town is asking that interested crafters, Easter lovers and decorators pre-order their eggs by Feb. 20, to ensure that enough are cut by the Town maintenance department. There is no limit on the number of eggs that can be ordered. Pre-order at https://form.jotform.com/240190548154151.
