CULLMAN, Ala. – Mixologists Christine Chamblee and Broc Malcom are no strangers to curating craft cocktails. As favorites behind local bars 412 Public House and Dreher’s, it seems continuing tending bar and creating connections among guests is a no-brainer career choice for the two. Taking the operation on the road, however, takes a little more guts. Enter Happy Pour Mobile Bartending & Event Services, a mobile mixology business born from Chamblee and Malcom, officially on the move and likely headed to a wedding or corporate event near you.

“We were both looking for something that could be more flexible and reach a wider audience in different locations throughout Alabama while still getting to curate delicious cocktails,” said Chamblee when describing their business model, noting a combined 15 years of experience between them. And with Chamblee being locally known for her fruity and floral syrups and mixers made fresh and in-house, it seemed an easy enough decision to take the fruits of her labor on the road.

Chamblee mentioned the endeavor has not been without challenges – running a legitimate business, especially one involving alcohol, does not come without red tape. While her reputation may precede her behind the bar as one of Cullman’s premier cocktail connoisseurs, Chamblee had a bit to learn about the mobile business before launch.

“The predominant challenge we faced was simply learning about everything, and understanding how it all works – and what we needed to run a mobile bartending company as a legitimate business,” she explained.

Chamblee said one of the challenges she and Malcom like to take head-on is customizing the client experience as much – or as little – as the guest prefers, affirming that with the years of experience between them, they are confident they can make any cocktail dream come true.

“We provide a variety of packages and add-ons for our clients, allowing them to customize their experience as much as they would like,” she said. “As both of us are experienced mixologists, we have the ability to offer innovative cocktail creations for their event that will be sure to leave their guests impressed!” She said if there’s no bar at the venue the client has selected, it’s no problem – Happy Pour is happy to pour one from its own compact, portable bar setup available for rent.

Chamblee was excited to share that she and Malcom are officially accepting bookings for 2024, and hope to be a go-to in Cullman for all events that may need a little buzz-worthy cocktail action. And, for those in the sober-curious movement or on their nth year of sobriety, Happy Pour is happy to offer customized mocktails to satisfy beyond a Shirley Temple.

“We are growing our social media presence and just launched our website this past week, so check all of that out to learn more about what we do or to inquire about booking with us!” Chamblee encouraged. “We have plans to expand our rental selection soon to streamline the event planning process for our clients.”
