CULLMAN, Ala. – Render Aid Alabama is one of Cullman’s newer nonprofits and is on a mission to “normalize compassion for humanity.” It hopes to help spread the love by hosting its inaugural Winter Wellness Festival on Saturday, Feb. 24, at the Cullman County Agricultural Trade Center in Vinemont. According to organizer Candie Cummings, the festival aims to link wellness vendors and other resources to those in the community who need them, promoting the overall well-being of the community and encouraging good health for the new year.
“Winter Wellness Festival links the community to vendors and resources that will help them be the best version of themselves,” said Cummings, sharing that the festival lines up with Render Aid Alabama’s vision of encouragement and speaking up for those who are unwell, all while supporting the community they call home.
“Every event we’ve hosted has had community resources that go with whatever theme the event is spotlighting,” Cummings explained. “This has given the community several avenues of resources they may not have even been aware existed!”
Cummings maintained that while Render Aid Alabama’s awareness and resource festivals have gained popularity by being free and fun events for families to attend, linking resources to those in need remains at the forefront – if even one person has a need met by any one of the vendors, she considers the event a job well done.
“Our resource vendors confirmed they were able to assist hundreds at the last event. If we’re able to assist just one person this time, the event was a success!” she exclaimed.
Cummings said while 32 vendor spots were available during the planning stage, just a few more remain, and she hopes to get them filled before the festival. “As of now, we have 10 spots available!
