WALTER, Ala. –  Two men have been charged following a manhunt in the Walter area on Thursday, Dec. 28. According to the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office, Chad Edward Lindley, 35, of Guin, and Jonathan Leamon Lee, 45, of Logan, are charged with receiving stolen property – receiving stolen vehicle, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and attempting to elude.

A CCSO spokesman said that earlier in the day on Dec. 28, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office issued a BOLO for a vehicle that had been stolen from Madison County at gunpoint.

“Around 1 p.m. Cullman County Sheriff’s Office deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle from the earlier BOLO,” said the CCSO spokesman. “The vehicle refused to stop and a short pursuit ensued. The vehicle wrecked in the area of County Road 750 and County Road 703.”

Once stopped, the suspects allegedly fled on foot.

K-9 tracking deputies and the Cullman Police Department helicopter assisted with the search. The two suspects were apprehended the same afternoon.
