CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Board of Education (CCBOE) announced its December Teacher and Staff Member of the Month on Dec. 26. Each month, the CCBOE partners with America’s First Federal Credit Union to recognize and award one teacher and one staff member with the title of Teacher of the Month and Staff Member of the Month, along with a gift card valued at $100.
Good Hope Primary and Elementary School Music Teacher Amanda McKenney was named Teacher of the Month.
“Mrs. McKenney is one of the most hard-working teachers at our school. She is committed to teaching all students and has a knack for finding hidden talents in even the shyest students,” said Beverly Jenkins, Good Hope Elementary principal. “She is a positive role model for others and can be found rooting for students and coworkers when they achieve their goals.”
Cullman Area Technology Academy (CATA) Secretary Janie White was named Staff Member of the Month.
“Mrs. White has been the gatekeeper for the Cullman Area Technology Academy for several years. Few people know more about CATA than she does. She manages the front office with grace and dignity,” said Dr. Susan Patrick, CATA principal. ” She loves CATA and dedicates herself to making it the success that it is today. The staff and students appreciate her more than she will ever know.”
