Mrs. Law passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023, at Cullman Regional. She was born Jan. 6, 1942, to Burnard and Tressie Phillips.
Nurse – a person trained to care for the sick. Not all find their calling in life; but my mom did. She was a nurse in the Cullman Community for 37 years; and the above definition does not come close to defining Wilma Faye Law. Through her career, she was witness to many changes in the medical field from moving an entire hospital across town to computer charting; but one thing never changed…her desire to provide the best care possible to the patients of Cullman Hospital. Commonly referred to as “Sure Shot” Faye for her IV starting skills.
She wanted to share her love of the nursing field with others so she mentored many new nursing graduates and most ended the mentorship calling her mom. Her skill set covered every department of the hospital and if a shift was short she would stay to make sure they had help. The nursing community was a better place because of her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert Law; granddaughter, Sharon Barck; parents; and brother, Thelbert Phillips.
Survivors include her sons, Phillip Barck and John (Andrea) Barck; daughter, Ann (Rustom) Irani; grandchildren, Jodie Barck, Jay Barck, and Ainsley Irani; great-grandchildren, Wesley Barck, Victoria Hooper, Abby Hooper, Ryan Hooper, Ruby Lopez, Raul Lopez, Eva Nandho, Sebastian Nandho, Diego Martinez, Alondra Nandho, Luis Nandho, and Dewight Nandho; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
She will be missed by many. We all love you Momma!
