Cullman County Public Library System searching for new director

CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Public Library Board recently approved the posting of the vacancy for the library director position. Josie Harrington, the library’s most recent director, stepped down in November. The posting is now live on the Cullman County Public Library System’s website, and qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Board Chairman Jill Meggs spoke confidently, stating the board hoped to find a knowledgeable candidate to continue leading the library system with a positive outlook and passion for learning.

“We’re excited to begin the process of interviewing candidates for the library director position,” she said. “We hope to find someone with good experience who will bring a fresh and innovative perspective to our library system. We encourage anyone interested that meets the requirements to apply!”

Qualified applicants must possess a Master of Library Science degree or equivalent from a graduate program accredited by the American Library Association, and five years’ experience overseeing the operations of a library system.
