Icy Mae Alston Raburn, age 96, of Arley, passed away Saturday, Dec. 16, 2023 at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born May 9, 1927 in Arley to Zenus and Maggie Smith Wade. Icy Mae was a lifelong member of Meek Baptist Church. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed playing rook. Icy Mae was a home maker and loving mother who raised six children.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2023 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where the service will be held at 2 p.m. Burial will be at Meek Cemetery. Ron Wooten will officiate.
Icy Mae is survived by her children, Rita Blakely and her husband Frank, Valerie Thomley and her husband Ken, Wade Alston, and Edna Boddie and her husband Warren; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Scharla Alston Kaiser; son, Clark Alston; and her parents, Zenus and Maggie Wade.
