Graveside service for Carlyn Georgia Welch, 93, of Cullman, will be Monday, Dec. 18, 2023 at 1 p.m. at Cullman Memory Gardens, with Pastor John Bussman officiating.

Mrs. Welch was born May 10, 1930, to George J. Schlegal and Lydia Rose Hellwig Schlegal. She passed from this life on Thursday, Dec. 14, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald J. Welch; daughter, Sandra Gail Derby; grandson, Joshua Wallace.
Survivors include her son, Randy (Lisa) Welch; three grandchildren, Matthew J. Welch, Jeremy (Amy) Wallace, Tenneill (Matt) Manning; four great-grandchildren, Olivia Wallace, William Wallace, Lucas Manning, Macie Manning; a host of family and friends.
Carlyn, better known as Corky” was always humming a tune and her motto was “Cheers to the Good Life!” Her nickname originated from her younger days when she was well known for doing the Jitterbug. Corky loved travelling and being with family. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and had an impact on everyone she met. She was a vivacious and joyful woman who lived her life to the fullest.
