Funeral services for Allen Howard Allred, 83, of Hanceville, will be held Tuesday, Dec. 12, 2023at Hanceville Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. with service to follow at 1 p.m. the Hanceville Funeral Home chapel with graveside service afterwards at Mtn. Grove Congregational Christian Church Cemetery. Rev. Phillip Doss will be officiating.
Mr. Allred passed away Dec. 7, 2023 at his residence. A veteran of the U.S Army, Mr. Allred was an avid bowler and fixture at Cullman Bowling Center since the early 70’s winning numerous tournaments and titles on the local and state level as well as qualifying for several national tournaments. One of his biggest accomplishments was rolling a 299 game during one of the national tournaments.
Mr. Allred is survived by his wife of almost 63 years, Pat Allred; sons, Greg (Susan) Allred and Keith (Jill) Allred; grandchildren, Jennifer (Joe) Lee, Seth (Emily) Allred, Rachel (Bryan) Pirkey, Will (Megan) Allred, and Zach Allred as well as seven great-grandchildren; and brother, Larry (Barbara) Allred.
Mr. Allred was preceded in death by his parents, James Lee and Willie Allred; brother, Albert Lee Allred; sister, Geraldine Smith; granddaughter, April Allred; and grandson Caleb Allred.
Mr. Allred loved watching Alabama football, basketball, and softball, the Atlanta Braves as well as any old western TV show. Mr. Allred was a longtime Trustee at Mtn. Grove Congregational Christian Church and was a lifelong member of the Riverbend Community, known to all for his friendly and mild mannered personality.
