Funeral service for Corinne Byrd Glasscock, age 102, of Cullman, will be at 12 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 16, 2023, at Welti Cumberland Presbyterian Church with Rev. Jimmy Peyton and Rev. Kevin Jenkins officiating. The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be at Welti Cemetery.
Cullman Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
Mrs. Glasscock retired from the ASCS where she served as a Program Assistant. After retirement she served the community at Cullman Regional as part of the auxiliary for over 20 years. Mrs. Glasscock was a charter member of the Cullman Lioness Club.
Mrs. Glasscock passed away on Monday, Nov. 13, 2023, at her residence. She was born Dec. 5, 1920, to H.E. and Rosa Byrd.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elbert R. Glasscock; brothers, Hershel Byrd and Jack Byrd; sister, Delores Hanson; special nieces that she helped raise, Vicki Hanson Holleman and Peggy Hanson Reed.
Survivors include her daughter, Judy (Morris) Mangum; son, Steve (Angie) Glasscock; grandchildren, Cheri (Jeff) Maddox, Tim (Debbie) Mangum, Mike Mangum, and Sonya Glasscock; 11 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Cullman County and caregivers, Sandra Tucker, Janey Grimes, LaVerne Hopkins, Robyn Tucker, Kathy Praytor, Rena Link, Wanda Lambert, Vicky Reynolds, and Sammie Danford for all the care and support during this time. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Welti Cumberland Presbyterian Church or Hospice of Cullman County.
