CULLMAN, Ala. – A Cullman woman was arrested Tuesday, Nov. 14, after being indicted for capital murder during first-degree robbery and capital murder during first- or second-degree arson.

The Cullman County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) said deputies arrested Charity Dawn Hutton, 33.

The indictments stemmed from a case earlier this year involving a body being located inside a burnt building on County Road 1635.

Hutton is currently being held at the Cullman County Detention Center without bond.

On May 13, 2023, at approximately 6 a.m., CCSO investigators and the state fire marshal were called to the scene of a residential fire along County Road 1635. Tragically, once the fire was extinguished, a victim was discovered inside.

The victim was identified as Noah Waters, 49, of Cullman.

Hutton is the third person charged in connection with Waters’ murder. Joseph Wayne Christiansen, 37, of Baileyton, was arrested June 2, 2023, for the same charges. Michael Lambert, 41, was also arrested in June 2023 for the same charges.

“The grand jury has indicted three people for the murder of Noah Waters – Joseph Christiansen, Michael Lambert and recently, Charity Hutton,” said Cullman County District Attorney Champ Crocker. “My office will not stop until we secure justice, and these indictments are the first step.”
