CULLMAN, Ala. – Farm-City Week is just around the corner, and the Cullman Farm-City Committee has been hard at work through the year to bolster the idea that industries should work hand in hand to deepen the connection between rural farmers and urban workers through special events, poster competitions and more. On Tuesday, Nov. 21, the committee will be recognizing and awarding the efforts of those who rose to be the cream of the crop.

“The annual Farm-City Banquet is a time when the committee, along with the community, recognizes outstanding members of the community through awards like 4-H Member of the Year, FCCLA and FFA Members of the Year and a rotating Farm Family and City Family of the Year,” said Tiffany Green-Oldacre, committee member.

“The banquet is a great time for local farmers and city folks to come together to celebrate each other’s roles in the agriculture industry,” explained Green-Oldacre, noting the committee’s focus set on Agri-Tourism for its 2023-2024 session. Events like this are crucial not only to advocate for education and outreach, but also to maintain that working relationship between farmers, ranchers and growers with the urban community, she said.

This year’s Farm-City Banquet will be hosted Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2023, at 6 p.m. at Camp Meadowbrook. Tickets are $30 and can be purchased at the Cullman County Economic Development Office located at 325 Second St. SE. Ticket includes dinner and entertainment.
