Jimmie Lee Boyd, age 85, of Cullman, Alabama passed away on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Mrs. Willodean Campbell Boyd. Daughter, Susan “Tim” Sellers, grandchildren: Adam Sellers, Ben “Lindzie” Sellers, Mary Beth Sellers, and great-grandchildren: Braylin Sellers and Kendal Banks Sellers. Son, Dr. Lance “Kristi” Boyd, grandchildren: Sadie “Trett” Hardman and Truman “Alivia” Boyd and great-grandchildren: Walt and Palmer. Son, Trent “Jennifer” Boyd, grandchildren: Dawson “Julie” Boyd, Blakely Boyd, Bennett Boyd, Rhett Boyd, Elsie Boyd, Callen Boyd, Cross Boyd, Arrow Boyd, Moses Boyd. Sister, Donna “Prentice” Farris. Sister-in-Law, Doris Boyd.
He is preceded in death by his mother Bessie Lee Boyd, father Etcyel Burell Boyd, sister, Mary June Jebeles, and bothers Derwood “Mildred” Boyd and Burell Boyd.
Jim Boyd served as Cullman County Schools Superintendent for 20 years and devoted his life to education and the children of Cullman County. Mr. Boyd was a lifelong farmer, and a man of the soil. Flowers will be accepted. Memorial donations can be made to North Alabama Agriplex Foundation.
Funeral Visitation will be held at Moss Service Funeral Home in the Chapel on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2023 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Funeral services will be at Fairview Methodist Church on Monday, Oct. 30, 2023 at 11 a.m., minister is Scott Hagood. Pallbearers: Adam Sellers, Ben Sellers, Dawson Boyd, Truman Boyd, Trett Hardman, Bennett Boyd, and Rhett Boyd. Honorary Pallbearers: Wendell Roden, Billy Fletcher, Doc Williamson and Ronnie Mann.
