ALBERTVILLE, Ala. – Vinemont traveled to Albertville to take on the Rams with a chance to clinch a playoff spot in the region finale and the Eagles returned home with a 42-0 victory and a postseason berth.

Vinemont received the opening kick-off and took an early, 6-0 lead when Rush Sandlin found Diego Rodriguez for a 32-yard touchdown. Vinemont’s defense forced a punt to quickly give the ball back to the Eagles offense and after a lengthy drive, Vinemont’s Kayden Henderson scored from 5 yards out on the first play of the second quarter to put the Eagles in front 14-0.

Vinemont forced another quick punt and three plays later, Josh Rhodes raced 34 yards for a touchdown to put the Eagles up 22-0 with 9:43 remaining until halftime. Late in the second quarter Rhodes scored from 20 yards out to make it a 28-0 game going into the halftime break.

Midway through the third quarter, Dawson Wilhite caught a touchdown pass from Sandlin to stretch the Eagles lead to 34-0 and later in the period, Rhodes found Malachi Adams for a 10-yard touchdown to wrap up a 42-0 win for Vinemont.

The Eagles will cap off the regular season against Holly Pond next week before turning their attention to round one of the state playoffs.
