TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Cold Springs made the long trip to Tuscaloosa Academy for its regular season finale Friday night and the Eagles trailed by just one early in the second quarter but couldn’t keep pace with the Knights the rest of the way and fell on the road 48-26 to finish the season 4-6.

Tuscaloosa Academy took an early, 6-0 lead over Cold Springs but the Eagles responded with a touchdown run from Josh Winfrey to tie things up at 6. The Knights answered with another score to move back in front 13-6 later in the first but a Mason Gable touchdown run trimmed the lead to 13-12. Tuscaloosa Academy seized the momentum in the second quarter, pulling ahead to take a 27-12 lead by the end of the first half.

The Knights continued adding to their lead in the third and went into the fourth quarter leading the Eagles 48-12. Winfrey scored two more touchdowns on the ground in the final period, bringing his total three for the game and trimming the lead to 48-26 but Cold Springs couldn’t chip away any more than that and Tuscaloosa Academy went on to win it 48-26.

The Eagles finish the regular season 4-6.
