CULLMAN, Ala. –  A Cullman man was arrested Thursday, Oct. 19, following a foot chase that began at Wal-Mart on Olive Street Southwest and ended at the Alabama Specialty Clinic, located across Cherokee Avenue Southwest, a short distance away.

Patrick Eugene Phillips, 26, is charged with possession of methamphetamine, being a felon in possession of a firearm, unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, attempting to elude a police officer, fourth-degree theft and resisting arrest.

Phillips was taken into custody just after 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

Cullman Police Department Public Relations Officer Adam Clark expressed gratitude to CPD officers for their swift action in apprehending Phillips.

Three years ago, almost to the day, Phillips was arrested by the Cullman County Sheriff’s Office after leading deputies and investigators on vehicle chase.

On Oct. 16, 2020, the CCSO posted to Facebook, “Yesterday afternoon Mr. Phillips eluded CCSO deputies & investigators after a short vehicle pursuit. Today after receiving a tip he was still in the area, CCSO investigators continued to search the area when Mr. Phillips approached undercover investigators for a ride out of the area. He was arrested at that time.”
