CULLMAN, Ala. – Ginger Hogeland, Ed.D., a member of the board of Cullman Regional Medical Center, was recently elected to serve on the board of the Alabama Council of Hospital Trustees (ACHT).  The statewide council serves to support hospital trustees through educational programs, publications and networking. The organization, which is an affiliate of the Alabama Hospital Association, is comprised of trustees from facilities across Alabama.

A lifelong educator, Dr. Hogeland is currently working with Cullman County dual enrollment students at Wallace State Community College. Prior to that she was a systemwide supervisor in the Cullman County School system and principal at Good Hope Primary School.  She has been an active member of a number of community organizations, including serving as president of the Cullman Lions Branch Club, earning the distinction as the 2021-2022 Lioness of the Year.  Previously she served on the boards of the Cullman County American Red Cross and the Alabama Lions High School Leadership Forum.  Hogeland has also been active in the National Association of School Personnel Administrators, the National Education Law Association and Cullman Area Chamber of Commerce.

“Local hospital trustees are the lifeblood of our organizations,” said Donald E. Williamson, president of the Alabama Hospital Association. “They not only serve a critical governance role, but they represent their communities, ensuring the needs of local citizens are met.  Being a hospital trustee is a time-consuming position, so it’s even more admirable that local leaders like Dr. Hogeland would agree to share their time and talent on the state trustee board.”

The Alabama Hospital Association, based in Montgomery, is a statewide trade organization that represents more than 100 hospitals and numerous other health care providers by offering membership services designed to enhance the provision of health care in Alabama.
