Funeral service for Geraldine Sharpton, age 87, of Cullman, will be at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023 at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home with Robert Lancaster and Dr. Johnny Crider officiating; burial at New Hope # 1 Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 12 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2023 at Cullman Heritage Funeral Home.

Mrs. Sharpton passed away on Saturday, Oct. 14, 2023 at Cullman Regional. She was born, May 9, 1936 to John M Crider and Sophie Irene Crider-Hancock.
Mrs. Sharpton was a lifelong teacher, where she taught at Dowling and Addison Elementary until her retirement. She loved Scared Harp music and she traveled all over to attend the singings.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Tina Sharpton; son, John Sharpton; grandson, Zach Sharpton; three sisters; and two brothers.
Survivors include her husband, Dalton Sharpton; sons, Wade (Kim) Sharpton and Gene “Butch” (Lisa) Sharpton; grandchildren, Valerie, Jared, Jessica, Christy and Luke; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Essie Mae Hollingsworth.
