HANCEVILLE, Ala. – The Hanceville Bulldogs were back home at Ray Talley Stadium Friday night to host a regional matchup against Etowah and unfortunately for the home crowd, the Blue Devils were in control of this one from start to finish and they defeated the Bulldogs 49-14.
After falling behind 21-0 in the second quarter, the Bulldogs were able to put some points on the board late in the period when Hunter Black connected with JT Davis through the air for a 14-yard touchdown and trimmed the lead to 21-7 going into the halftime break.
However, Etowah continued to add to its lead in the second half, pulling ahead 35-7 by the end of the third quarter. Eli Clements got loose for a 70-yard touchdown late in the game to bring the lead down to 42-14 but those were the last points the Bulldogs were able to score, and the Blue Devils went on to win it 49-14.
Hanceville falls to 3-5 with the loss and the Bulldogs will be off next week before traveling to Fultondale Oct. 27.
