BREWER, Ala. – After celebrating homecoming with a win over Ardmore last week, the Aggies were back on the road Friday night for a regional battle against Brewer. Thanks to an impressive offensive performance on the ground and a great effort on defense, Fairview was able to build a 17-0 lead in the first half and continued to pull away in the second half on the way to a 38-0 win over the Patriots.

Fairview was forced to punt on its opening possession and on their opening drive, the Patriots connected on a deep pass down the middle of the field to move into Aggie territory. However, Fairview’s defense forced a turnover on downs to keep Brewer off the board midway through the first quarter. Later in the opening period, Kolt Redding intercepted a Patriots pass to set up the Fairview offense near midfield and on a fourth down play, Barrett York took a direct snap 41 yards down the Aggie sideline for a touchdown and put Fairview on top 7-0 with 10 minutes to play in the first half.

The Aggies exchanged punts with Brewer as the second quarter went on, but Fairview was able to get into scoring range in the last minute of the first half thanks to a 20-yard run down the sideline from Jake Harper. Redding split the uprights with a 24-yard field goal in the final seconds of the second quarter and the Aggies went into the locker room with a 10-0 lead at the break.

Fairview dominated the second half, starting with a 19-yard touchdown run by Harper that made it a 17-0 game. Following another Brewer punt, it was York’s turn to score and the lefty QB made his way down the Aggie sideline for a 36-yard touchdown to put Fairview in front 24-0 with three minutes to play in the third quarter. York’s big night continued later when he connected with Jameson Goble over the middle on the first play of the fourth quarter and Goble took it 32 yards into the end zone for another Aggie touchdown, stretching the lead to 31-0. Fairview’s final scoring drive of the night was capped off by a 1-yard touchdown run from Carson Jones and Eric Gonzalez intercepted a Patriots pass on the ensuing possession to wrap up a 38-0 road win for the Aggies.

Fairview improves to 7-0 with the win and the Aggies will be back home next week for another regional game against Lawrence County.
