CULLMAN, Ala. – While haunted houses and corn mazes have provided Halloween entertainment for years in the community, one man has been quietly preparing a Halloween experience that Cullman has never seen. Ronnie Allred of Lights on 436 combines old-fashioned spooky nostalgia and modern technology to produce a truly bespoke holiday light show that’s sure to entertain the whole family.

Creating a sense of wonder and awe through synchronized lights is nothing new for Allred. Known for his synchronized Christmas shows – and more recently, his 4th of July show – Allred decided to up the ante and give the people what they want, with the first “Spooktacular” on the books. The half-hour set list includes timeless Halloween classics like “I Put a Spell on You” and “Monster Mash,” a scene from “The Haunted Mansion” and a few more modern tunes to round out the experience.

“After the success of the show for Christmas and the 4th of July, I have had so many ask if we could do a Halloween show,” said Allred, who happily obliged. Seasoned attendees of Lights on 436 will be able to appreciate the new equipment as well; Allred has brought in ghosts, spiders, bats and tombstones to shake up the look and add more dimension to the experience.

Allred shared that while the show started with humble hobby beginnings, it has turned into a full-scale production. Thousands of LED pixel lights and set lists that appeal to every age work in tandem to keep audiences interested, entertained and coming back for more.

“I just want everyone to enjoy a show like most people have never been able to see. I still am blown away by the community support for things like this,” he said. “I am very thankful to have the ability to do this.”

Lights on 436 is located at 5070 County Road 436, Cullman, Alabama, 35055. The show’s opening night is Friday, Oct. 13, 2023, and it will run every night from 6:30-10 p.m. until Halloween night on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023. There is no admission fee, but Allred asks that viewers be courteous to one another and turn off headlights if possible. Tune in to 100.1 to hear the music in sync with the lights, and enjoy the show!
