CRANE HILL, Ala. – It’s been said by many that if you speak his name three times, he will appear. “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!” On Sunday, Oct. 15, Arrowhead RV Park will hold its first Halloween drive-in movie event, showing the 1988 cult classic movie “Beetlejuice.”
Guests can expect family fun for all ages and a scary good start to the 2023 spooky season. Admission is free and gates open for parking at 6:30 p.m. Chairs and blankets are encouraged, but not necessary. The fun begins at 7:30, when those three words are uttered across the field, “Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice!” and the cursed bio-exorcist himself screeches across screen. Food and snacks may be brought in, and are even encouraged.
Lisa Watts, an employee at Arrowhead, said, “People are welcome to bring drinks and snacks in their vehicle.”
Traditional movie theater-style concessions and refreshments such as boxed candy, chips, popcorn, bottled water and soda will be available for purchase at scary prices, all under $3.
“Beetlejuice” is a 1988 Tim Burton classic film, following the spirits of a departed couple as they try to sabotage and scare away the family that moved into their home. After many unsuccessful efforts, a malicious and devious spirit is employed to finish the job. It is rated PG and would be suitable with parental guidance for all ages. The movie does contain comedic violence and slight references to death and dying.
The National Weather Service predicts that temperatures in the Cullman area are expected to dip into the mid-low 40s Sunday evening, enhancing that fall feeling and continuing the recent cold snap. The night air will likely be crisp and chilly, so bundle up and make sure to bring blankets to stay cozy while enjoying the festivities. Bringing along a roasting stick and marshmallows may not be a bad idea, either.
Said Watts, “If it ends up being chilly and you still prefer chairs and blankets, we will have the firepit set up and ready!” Staff and employees of Arrowhead RV Park are hopeful for a good turnout, with Watts enthusiastically adding, “I can’t wait to see everyone there to kick off a cozy and spooky season!”
Arrowhead RV Park is located at 761 County Road 941 in Crane Hill and can be reached by phone at 256-747-2519.
