BREMEN, Ala. – After handling Shoals Christian a week ago, the Cold Springs Eagles were back on their home field Friday night to host a big regional matchup against Winston County. Unfortunately for Eagles fans, Cold Springs wasn’t able to find as much success against the Yellow Jackets and the Eagles fell 35-0.
Winston County scored in the opening period to take a 7-0 lead and tacked on another touchdown midway through the second to take a 14-0 lead into the locker room at halftime. The Yellow Jackets found the end zone early in the third quarter to extend their lead to 21-0 and tacked on another touchdown later in the period to make it 28-0 at the start of the fourth.
Winston County added one more score in the final frame and returned home with a 35-0, region win over the Eagles.
Cold Springs falls to 3-4 with the loss and will remain home to face Aliceville next week.
