Robert Earl Rowell, of Holly Pond, Alabama, passed away on the morning of Oct. 6, 2023, at the age of 82. Mr. Rowell was born in Lincoln, Alabama, on Aug. 13, 1941, to John Thomas and Clara Eloise Fike Rowell.

Mr. Rowell served his county honorably in the United States Navy for four years, and we will be forever grateful for his service and sacrifice to our great nation. Bob loved his Lord and Savior, and he attended New Hope #2 Baptist Church where he enjoyed worshipping with his family and friends. A truck driver by trade, Bob worked hard to provide for his family. He was a jokester and enjoyed teasing and making others laugh.

Bob had a servant heart and was burdened for those in need. He gave freely of his resources to multiple charities. Mr. Rowell loved his wife Vina, and before her passing, they enjoyed riding motorcycles together as part of the CMA. Bob was a loving father to his three sons, Mark, Matt, and Michael, and was a proud grandfather and great-grandfather as well. Mr. Rowell was loved by many, and he will be missed greatly.

Mr. Rowell is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Vina Rowell; and five of his siblings.

Those surviving Bob are his sons, Mark Rowell (Karen), Matt Rowell (Tammy), Michael Rowell; sisters, Doris, and Nell; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Friends are invited to join the family on Wednesday, Oct. 11, 2023, at New Hope #2 Baptist Church for a time of visitation prior to services. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m., followed by funeral services at 11 a.m., with Pastor Austin Rowell officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Pond Cemetery where Blake Rowell, Cody Rowell, Landon Rowell, Brody Rowell, Jace Calvert, and Austin Smith will serve as pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or Tunnel to Towers Foundation in memory of Mr. Rowell. Both charities were dear to Bob’s heart.

Holly Pond Funeral Home is honored to serve the Rowell family.
