Sylvia June Roper Hare, 85, of Baileyton, passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2023, at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
June was born March 24, 1938, in Cullman County, the daughter of Robert Roper and Sylvia Inez Thompson Roper. She graduated from Fairview High School and went on to get her master’s degree from U.A.B. She taught at Fairview Elementary for 30 years before retiring. She was a member of Baileyton Methodist Church
Survivors include her grandchildren: Ashley (Larry) Butler and Donnie Shaw and Haley Burgess; great granddaughters: KiLynn Erwin and Kameri Burgess; extended family: Tina Butler, Dustin and Mary Butler, Abagail, Nevaeh, Lucas and DJ. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Robyn Hare and son: Herbert Cecil “Herbie” Hare.
Funeral Service will be 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2023, at Gober Funeral Chapel with Brother Shane Hicks officiating. The burial will be in Arab Memorial Cemetery, Gober Funeral Chapel directing. Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until 3 p.m. Friday at Gober Funeral Chapel.
