CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman County Fair Parade will be held on Saturday, Sept. 30, at 2 p.m. and last approximately two hours. The parade will travel down U.S. Highway 31, starting at First Baptist Church and ending at McGriff Tire. Also on Saturday, the 40th annual Cullman County Band Exhibition will begin at 6 p.m. at the Cullman High School stadium.
According to Cullman Lion Charlie Childers, the JROTC will lead the parade, sponsored by the Cullman Lions Club, with an honor guard. Reigning Miss Cullman County Fair and fair princesses will also be featured, as well as Cullman County marching bands, this year’s Cullman County Fair Queen contestants and a variety of floats.
U.S. Highway 31 will be closed to traffic between Main Avenue Northwest and Ninth Street Southwest beginning around 1:30 p.m. until around 4:30 p.m.
Later that night, the Cullman County Band Exhibition will be held at Cullman High School’s stadium. Gates open at 5 p.m. Admission to the event, which will feature nine area marching bands, is $5 for adults and $2 for students.
