Ann Key Marshall, of Tuscaloosa, AL, passed away peacefully and surrounded by her family, August 30, 2023.
Born Aug. 3, 1950, in Eutaw, Al, she was the daughter of James M. Key and Martha Johnson Key.
Ann was a lifelong RN and retired Nurse Practitioner. She attained her education across the United States, culminating with a master’s from Florida State University. Most of her working years were spent in Cullman, Al, and Seagrove Beach, Fl. She nursed from her heart and believed a hug was as healing as a shot.
Ann’s heart and soul were with her children and grandchildren. Her passions were sewing for the children and baking wedding cakes for the family, and she won her share of ribbons at the county fair. She loved snow skiing, playing tennis and could hit a wiffle ball as far as any man. An avid fan of the Crimson Tide, most Saturdays in the fall were spent with Rick either attending a football game or watching games into the night. A lifelong Methodist, she loved the Lord more than anything.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Martha Sanders.
She is survived by her husband, Richard (Ricky) Marshall; her children Jason Poole, Athens, Al., Stacy Cooper (Nate), Hoover, AL., Bess Pooler (Mike), Sandestin, FL, Meg Moore (Blake), Nashville, GA.; grandchildren Campbell and Charlie Ann Cooper, Parker and Emma Pooler, and Wesley Moore, and brother Jim Key. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends who she considered family.
The family received friends from 2 p.m. until 4 p.m., Sunday, Sep. 10, 2023, at Cullman First United Methodist Church, 320 3rd Ave SE, Cullman, AL 35055, followed by a memorial service.
