HANCEVILLE, Ala. — Hanceville was back home at Ray Talley Stadium for another big regional matchup Friday night and the Bulldogs of Hanceville proved to be too much for the Bulldogs of Ashville, collecting a 32-6 region win at home.
Ashville led Hanceville 6-0 at the end of the first quarter, but Marquies Leeth punched one into the end zone from 5 yards out to tie the game at 6 early in the second. Hunter Black connected on a 19-yard touchdown pass to JT Davis later in the period to give Hanceville a 13-6 lead and Leeth scored his second touchdown of the night with 35 seconds on the clock to put the Bulldogs in front of Ashville 19-6 going into the halftime break.
Eli Clements ran one into the end zone from just a yard out early in the third quarter to stretch Hanceville’s lead to 25-6 and later in the third, Keiton Whatley scored from 9 yards out to give Hanceville a 32-6 lead going into the final frame. The Bulldogs were able to keep Ashville off the board the rest of the way and Hanceville went on to win it 32-6 to improve to 2-2 on the season.
Hanceville will be back on the road for another big region matchup at Cherokee County next week.
