PREP CROSS COUNTRY: Cold Springs’ Edgeworth, Cullman’s Barnett place 1st in Scottsboro, Moulton

SCOTTSBORO, Ala. – Cold Springs and Cullman both hit the road Saturday morning to compete in this year’s Scottsboro Invitational and Pepsi XC Challenge respectively and both of them returned home with winners. Cold Springs’ Ethan Edgeworth cooked the rest of the large schools’ field in Scottsboro with a time of 14:45.24 and in Moulton, Cullman’s Andrue Barnett placed first in the large schools’ race with a time of 16:19.45.

West Point’s Rene Moreno-Tovar finished just behind Barnett in second place after posting a 16:35.13 and not far behind Edgeworth was fellow Eagles runner Jayden Allred in third place with a time of 15:49.41. In the small schools’ race in Moulton, Holly Pond’s Travis Barnett ran a 17:00.22 to place second and on the girls’ side, Broncos runner Caroline Lamoureux finished with fifth with a time of 21:55.08.
