A funeral service for Michael Fritz Gable, 72, of Hanceville, Alabama will be 2 p.m. Saturday, September 2, 2023, at Hanceville Funeral Home Chapel. Paul Campbell and Jonathan Reid will be officiating. Walter Volunteer Fire Department will be leading the procession to Duck River Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.
Visitation for the public will be from 12 p.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday at Hanceville Funeral Home. The service will also include a special remembrance in honor of his late wife, Vonda Gable.
Mr. Gable was born on Aug. 3, 1951, to the late Earnesteen and Louise (Massey) Gable in Cullman, Alabama. He passed away on Aug. 28, 2023, at Cullman Regional Medical Center in Cullman, Alabama. Fritz, which is the name he was commonly known by, was beyond a giver to his family, friends, and community. He was more than dependable and always kept his promises. Those in the Walter Community, Cullman, County and his family will forever cherish the fond memories of Fritz and will be truly missed.
Survivors include his children, Jeff (Amy) Gable, Ann (Doug) Duke, and Jan (Jamie) Akin; grandchildren, Luke Gable, Salena (Jordon) Hood, Kaitlynn Gable, Ashley Duke (John McPheron), Will Akin (Hayden Fulton), and Eli Akin; great-grandchildren, John Gable, Byron Hood, Rylee Hood, Donny Hood, and Skylee Nickelson; and special aunt, Kathleen Bice.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Gable was preceded in death by his wife, Vonda Gable; and grandson, Walter Gable.
Walter Volunteer Fire Department and Conner Pitts will be serving as pallbearers.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Donald Reid, James Reid, David Bice, and Jackie Satterfield
