CULLMAN, Ala. – The Cullman City School Board met on Friday morning. In attendance were teachers Morgan Johnston and Christy Brock.
Cullman Middle School Principal Jake Johnson welcomed Morgan Johnston back to the middle school. She taught at Cullman High School for eight years and is now returning to replace Katie McGee in seventh-grade English.
“We’re glad to have her with us. She does have experience in the middle grades as well from the first part of her career, so we’re very thankful and glad to have her on board,” Johnson stated.
The board also acknowledged Brock, who will be teaching art part time at the Cullman City Primary School.
The following agenda items were approved:
- Revised 2023-2024 Salary Schedules
- Contract with Ginger Wood to prepare for 2023-2024 school year on July 31, 2023
- Contract with Jill Wright to prepare for the 2023-2024 school year on July 31, 2023
- Approval to amend the contract with Kevin Wilson for Aug. 1, 2023 to July 31, 2024
- Approval to amend the Supplemental Contract for John Drake, Cullman City Schools Video Coordinator
- Salvage old unused football equipment and uniforms at Cullman High School
The following resignations were accepted:
- Katie McGee- English Language Arts Teacher at Cullman Middle School, effective Sept. 4, 2023
- Susan Terri Cooper- Instructional Assistant at Cullman City Primary School, effective Sept.19, 2023
- Jori Johnson- Instructional Aide at Cullman City Primary School, effective Aug. 25,2023
The following transfers were approved:
- Jason Parrish- Teacher at East Elementary School to Teacher at Cullman High School, effective date to equal the effective date of the replacement hire
- Robyn Nance- Special Education Teacher at Cullman Middle School to 504 Specialist/Intervention for the 2023-2024 School Year Only at Cullman City Schools, effective Sept. 5, 2023
- Brandi Outzen- Title-I Assistant at Cullman City Primary School to Receptionist/ Secretary at Cullman City Primary School, effective Aug. 28,2023
- Danielle Taylor- Special Education Teacher at East Elementary School to Special Education Teacher at Cullman Middle School, effective Sept. 5, 2023
The following conditional employments were accepted:

There will be a budget meeting Sept. 11, at 5 p.m. in the central office board room. The next Cullman City School Board Meeting will be held Sept. 12, at 5 p.m. in the central office board room.
