Barbara Ann Hunter, 83, of Houston, Alabama, passed away Aug. 22, 2023 at Arbor Lake Health and Rehab in Auburn, Alabama.
She was born March 15, 1940 in Winston County. Barbara was a loving wife and mom that loved being outside and playing with the grandkids. She also loved working with the forest service, caring for animals, sharing stories of her childhood, traveling, and reading.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023 at 9 a.m. at Poplar Springs Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery in Nauvoo, Alabama. Brother T.J. Millican will officiate.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Lana (Mike) Sargent, and Amy (Donald) Jones; son, Frankie (Michelle) Hunter; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert M. Spain and Evie Curtis Spain; husband, Frank O. Hunter; daughters, Lisa Henderson and Tammy Hunter; son-in-law, Danny Henderson; great-grandson, Wyatt Sargent; sisters, Luzelle Powell, Laverne Aldridge, and Vermell Wakefield; and brother, Roger Spain.
