CULLMAN, Ala. –  Get ready to indulge in a weekend of mouthwatering barbecue, lively music and vibrant arts at the seventh annual Bernard Blues and BBQ Festival, hosted by St. Bernard. Mark your calendars for Saturday, Sept. 9, and Sunday, Sept. 10, as Cullman welcomes visitors from near and far to this much-anticipated event.

A culinary and artistic extravaganza

The festival promises a plethora of exciting activities, making it a must-attend event for families, foodies and art enthusiasts alike. Attendees can browse through an impressive range of arts and crafts, including pottery, paintings, jewelry, soaps, wind chimes, sauces, seasonings, gourmet food items, wood carvings, stained glass, handmade children’s clothing, custom embroidery and door hangers, among others. The diverse selection is sure to satisfy every artistic taste.

BBQ delights for every palate

But the indulgence doesn’t stop there – St. Bernard Abbey will offer its famous Bernard’s Best Breads and an assortment of cookies to delight the taste buds.

Kansas City Backyard BBQ Competition

Festival Director Joyce Nix is excited to introduce the first Kansas City Backyard BBQ Competition to the festival. Cooks will go head to head in a culinary challenge, likened to a cross-country race, as they race against the clock to present their best chicken and pork creations. The judging will take place at noon and 12:30 p.m., respectively, and all dishes will be prepared using charcoal briquettes, pellets and more.

Live entertainment and unmissable prizes

Prepare to be entertained by exceptional live performances on both days. The Charlie Soul Band will set the stage ablaze on Saturday from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m., followed by The Sinners on Sunday from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. and The Kingfish from 2-4 p.m. As the festivities wind down, anticipation will be high for the $10,000 sweepstakes giveaway on Sunday, Sept. 10, at 4 p.m.
