CULLMAN, Ala– While temperatures may be finally cooling off come autumn, Cullman Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism (CPRST), along with Cullman Community Theatre (CCT) and local schools will be bringing a tropical feeling with “Moana Jr.,” set to hit the stage in mid-October.
More than 50 students from city, county and private schools recently descended on Technology Village in hopes of being awarded a spot in the cast of the show, set to be directed by Wayne Cook, with musical direction by Cindy Pass.
Said CPRST Program Liaison Noah Carpenter, “We were flooded with talent this year, both returning and some all-new students who will join us on stage for the first time this year! Even with so many incredibly talented students, our directors and creative team have already fully cast the show and will begin rehearsing almost immediately.”
Though the show may be fully cast, there are still roles to be played through volunteering. Carpenter noted that volunteer opportunities vary from sponsorships, CCT membership and more typical theater opportunities.
“We are always looking for new volunteers, members and sponsors to help us with multiple different avenues of each and every show we do with Cullman Community Theatre,” Carpenter explained. “Anyone interested or with any questions about any of these opportunities please feel free to reach out to Cullman Community Theatre’s Facebook or to Cullman Parks, Recreation & Sports Tourism!”
“Moana Jr.” show dates are Oct. 12-15, 2023; show times will be announced soon. Performances will take place in the Cullman High School auditorium.
