VINEMONT, Ala. – Sullivan Creek Ranch hosted its National Day of the Cowboy event on Sunday.
The family friendly event saw attendees bring chairs and tents to watch participants compete in a ranch task competition that showcased what cowboys do every day working their cattle.
Sullivan Creek Ranch Owners Greg and Emily Anderson said they were very happy with the turnout this year and are eager to continue hosting the event in the future.
“Sullivan Creek Ranch celebrates the National Day of the American Cowboy to pay homage to a culture that recognizes rugged individualism and adherence to a code that still exists and thrives in small pockets throughout our great country, including north Alabama,” Greg Anderson said. “Some examples that can be universally applied to all aspects of our lives: live each day with courage; take pride in your work; always finish what you start; do what has to be done; be tough but fair; when you make a promise, keep it; ride for the brand; talk less, say more; remember that some things aren’t for sale; and know where to draw the line.”
Despite the hot July sun, participants were eager to compete and show off their skills in the various events.
