Betty Jean Chandler, 88, of Huntsville, Alabama passed away peacefully in her home the morning of Wednesday, July 19, 2023, surrounded by family. Born in Cullman, Alabama, she was the youngest and longest surviving of nine children.
On Aug. 9, 1952, she married the love of her life, Burl B. Chandler. Then in 1961, they moved to Huntsville. She took pride in being a homemaker for many years. Betty loved caring for others by crocheting baby blankets, cooking pies and treats, and celebrating special moments. She was a faithful and loving Wife, Mother, Grandmommie, Aunt, and Friend to many.
She is survived by her three sons, Keith Chandler (Sue), Kenneth Chandler (Lee), and Chris Chandler (Debra); her four grandchildren, Jason Chandler (Alexis), Allison Komara (Greg), Laura Ann Mayer (Bryan), and Sara House (Michael); her ten great-grandchildren; her beloved sister-in-law, Jean Stisher; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Burl Buel Chandler; her parents, Lula Ann and Arthur Finley Ballew; and her eight siblings.
Visitation will be Friday, July 21, 2023, from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral will follow in the chapel with Stephen Hampton officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery.
