CULLMAN, Ala. – Cullman Mayor Woody Jacobs on Friday proclaimed July 14, 2023, Camp Liberty’s 10th Anniversary Day in the city of Cullman. On hand to receive the official proclamation was Camp Liberty Director of Special Events Dr. Bob Montague.
Since relocating to the Battleground area in Cullman County in 2013, Camp Liberty has had over 3,000 graduates, and a majority of those graduates now serve in the military or in public service. In addition to training young people interested in a military career, Camp Liberty also offers training and programs for veterans transitioning into new careers and military family members seeking new job training.
This summer, Camp Liberty in Cullman County is hosting its 10th Extreme Military Challenge (XMC), a seven-week program with participants aged 13-18 from across the nation. Camp Liberty is a 76-acre facility with field training locations, including the Cadet Ranger Village, low-ropes course and rappel tower. It has an on-site obstacle course and marksmanship range.
Montague said he has been extremely impressed with this group of kids and he is looking forward to the graduation ceremony that will be held this Saturday, July 22, at the Cullman County Agricultural Trade Center at 9:30 a.m.
