James William Tidwell, 82, of Cullman, Alabama passed peacefully on Monday, July 17, 2023 at CRMC. He was born on Aug. 27, 1940 to Noel and Goldie Tidwell, who preceded him in death, along with his sister Frances Tidwell Williamson and his brother Dale Tidwell.
James is survived by his wife of 62 years, Suzanne Rogers Tidwell; his sons James Tidwell, Jr. and Judd Tidwell; his brother Robert Tidwell, Sr. (Rudene), and his Brother in law Don Williamson; all of Cullman, Alabama and a host of nieces and nephews and life-long friends.
James was a life-long member of Seventh Street Baptist Church in Cullman, Alabama. James served as a deacon and choir member at the church and interim Choir Director. James shared his gift of singing in church services, weddings, funerals and various functions.
James graduated from Cullman High School in 1958 where he was involved in many activities and served as a football cheerleader. After graduating Cullman High School, he attended Auburn University and graduated from Howard College (Samford University) with a BS in Accounting.
He worked in the family business, Cullman Banana Supply, until his retirement. He was a long term Lion’s Club member and a 40+ year season ticket holder for Auburn Football.
